Sorry, but I will not stop encouraging you to read more books.
Reading and listening to books have transformed not just my life but many others in profound ways.
For me, reading isn't just about gaining knowledge; it's also a way to give my brain a productive break. Through the pages of books, I find a sanctuary where I can heal my soul and recharge my mind.
Here’s a quick list of a few reasons to read for at least an hour a day (for the remainder of your life):
Reason #1: Reading—in an age of online algorithms feeding you information and media bias—allows you to take a revolutionary step in thinking for yourself. By consuming content from many authors—of different opinions and different generations—you can form your own conclusions on the topics that matter. Reading books makes you an independent, confident, and noble thinker.
Reason #2: Reading helps you go deep into a culture gone light. Rather than digital snacking on information through one-line messages and ten-second videos, immersing yourself in a book (especially a hard one to read) builds the muscles that make you a heavyweight thinker. This ability, in turn, will allow you to be one of the rare few who have the mental toughness to solve difficult problems. Also, where everyone is competing to be a shallow news reporter, you can become an expert on the topics.
Reason #3: Reading lengthens your attention span in an environment where the majority suffers from the profound weakness of not being able to focus. All geniuses have built a supreme level of concentration, which causes them to regularly enter the flow state for endless hours, where they access the near-magical ideas that eventually make them legendary. It also strengthens your discipline muscle because reading daily for a few hours now in the world of digital distractions needs strong mental toughness and control—and not everyone can do it.
Reason #4: Reading raises your knowledge base, which aids you in pushing more magic into the marketplace. Growing in insight also reduces the number of mistakes you'll make as you leverage the wisdom of the giants you study. This means less wasted time, less personal pain, and a whole lot less hardship. Since I started reading, I have applied many ideas and strategies from books to my business. A few bucks and a couple of hours of investment into books has yielded superb returns on my business in the form of growth, productivity, and profitability.
Reason #5: Reading elevates your inspiration. You can't inspire your followers, customers, and industry if your own well of inspiration is empty. A superb way to stay optimistic, enthusiastic, and overflowing with contagious positive energy is to read works of heroic exploits.
… Read the biographies of adventurers who scaled the highest summits and explored desolate deserts.
… Study the autobiographies of the inventors who overcame the odds and entrepreneurs who transcended common limits.
… Associate with the great men and women of history who freed captive nations, launched global movements, and represented the best humanity has to offer by reading of their lives, by moving through their books.
I could list many more reasons that I want you to read everything you can get your hands on and turn pages instead of watching amusing videos (that often leave you feeling intellectually emptier and spiritually poorer than before you began).
I'll say it again because I really care about your growth:
Read daily! Read daily! Read daily!
Also, here are my 21 rules for reading that will help you start (or continue) on your journey of learning and growing through reading.
I need to wrap this up and get to my reading. As I write this from my desk, my bookshelf—filled with my favorite books—is calling me from across the room.
🚀 Growth Tip
You know what really bothers me?
It's how much we glorify the hustle culture while sleep—something so natural and essential—often gets a bad rap. It's strange that something as simple as falling asleep can be so difficult for many of us.
So, let me share this US Army trick to fall asleep anywhere in 2 minutes.
Remember → Sleep is not a luxury. It’s a necessity.

James Clear, the author of "Atomic Habits," describes two types of problems: muddy puddles and leaky ceilings.
Muddy Puddle Problems: These are like muddy puddles. If you keep messing with them, they just get muddier. Sometimes, it's best to leave them alone, and they'll clear up on their own.
Leaky Ceiling Problems: These are like a leaky ceiling. If you ignore a small leak, it gets worse over time. For example, if you don't address tension in a relationship or keep overspending, these problems grow. It's important to tackle these kinds of problems right away.
So, are you dealing with a muddy puddle or a leaky ceiling?
